Founded by Sandy Webster from Fallbrook, California, Nessy Burgers began as a hamburger trailer operating on Caltrans property nearby the Highway 76 off-ramp from Interstate 15. Sandy’s delicious burgers became a quick hit with truckers that frequented the I-15 corridor between San Diego and Riverside County, and as time went by, the word got out and people started coming from all around Southern California to try one of Nessy’s legendary Hamburgers.
Sandy and her Scottish business partner at that time, named the restaurant Nessy Burgers, as a spin-off to the mysterious Loch Ness Monster, spelled Nessie. But there is another mystery surrounding Nessy Burgers. That is, what makes Nessy Burgers’ delicious flavor is partly due to Sandy’s special blend of herbs and spices that remains a secret today.
Although Sandy is no longer with us, owner Charlie Webster continues the delicious burger tradition, with the burger recipe unchanged since the restaurant's inception in 1989.
Yes that is right. Nessy Burger’s delicious beef is still supplied by the same local supermarket in Fallbrook. The beef patties used in this perfect burger are made from a special blend of premium chuck and sirloin beef. Ground fresh every morning, the beef is assembled in ten pound batches and Nessy’s special seasonings are added. In addition to the beef being ground ultra-fresh early each morning, every ½ pound burger patty is hand-made and individually weighed! Nessy's beef possesses no fillers or preservatives and the beef is never frozen. The only additive is Nessy’ secret blend of herbs and spices. The Webster family knows that the highest quality beef patty is essential for the perfect hamburger.
The Nessy Burger is not just about the perfect burger patty...Nessy serves its burgers with the most excellent of sauce recipes that is spread deliciously over the meat, complemented by the finest sesame seed bun from the bread man who calls on the restaurant every day. In addition, the burgers are topped with slices from perfectly-ripe juicy jumbo tomatoes, crisp sweet onions (grilled upon request) and only the finest leaves from hand broken Iceberg lettuce. For the final touch, every Nessy Burger comes with premium quality American cheese, and the best sliced jalapeno peppers and pickles are offered on the side. Umm Good!!
The bottom line, a Nessy Burger is a quality burger; that's why burger lovers come from all over Southern California and even other States to eat at Nessy Burgers. Some of our customers actually have told us that they have consistently patronized the restaurant since its opening in 1989.
